The Lymestone bees came to live on the flat roof of the brewery in June 2010. Brad had seen an article in the local press about a bee keeper in the local area talking about the lack of pollen for the bees in the countryside during the summer. Having a flat roof at the brewery Brad invited "Lee the Bee" to come and take a look and with the landlord"s permission the bees were ordered!
The first 2 nuclei of bees arrived in June 2010 and a wild swarm arrived at the same time – and so there were 3 hives!
The first honey was harvested in September 2010, and Stone Brood was produced.
In 2011 we were sad to lose one swarm, but pleased to catch another and the volume of honey increased to ensure that Stone Brood was available in both Cask and Bottle!
