Lymestone News

By Viv BRADFORD 13 Dec, 2017
Here at Lymestone we run a monthly brewery tour and in 2018 we want to use them to help local charities or not-for-profits to raise some money.

Our award-winning tour costs £15pp. As well as the tour, we offer a selection of our beers and a bowl of steak and ale stew or veggie alternative. Each month's charity would get £5 from every brewery ticket sold - and with a maximum capacity of 100, that could mean £500 for the charity if all the tickets are sold.

Our tours are on the third Friday of the month in 2018 except for December, when it’s on the first Friday.

Darts enthusiasts can take part in a fun evening of arrows at the brewery on Saturday 13 January.

We're not looking for great players - although if you can at least hit the board, that would be a bonus! It's all about kicking off the new year with a fun night at the brewery. In fact, darts character costumes and fancy dress are actively encouraged, and there will be a special prize for the best outfit! We hear Brad will be getting his lederhosen out of storage...

The competition is FREE to enter and you're guaranteed at least two games, with lots of beer prizes up for grabs.

Supporters are very welcome to come along and cheer on the players, too. The bar will be open (obviously), with sausage sandwiches for sale.

Email or call 01785 817796 if you'd like to take part.

Here we are in July and I can hardly believe where the year has gone
At the Brewery we have been busy with outside events and parties, and have made lots of new friends along the way, but the summer is not yet over and we still have lots of fun events to share with you
This Saturday 23 rd of July the Brewery is playing host to a fund raising Beer Festival for Autism Awareness. Lymestone Brewery has donated the use of the building and the staff time free of charge so that all money raised will go to this worthy cause. The doors open at 12md and stay open all day... sounds like a great day out!
August is a quieter month as everyone tries to grab some holidays while there is sunshine to be had, but we will still be out and about with Appetite in Stoke on Trent, and running the monthly Reapers car event on site.
September starts as it means to go on!
Nantwich food and drink festival is the first weekend of September and we will be on site from Friday through to Sunday. This is a fantastic event which grows each and every year. It takes over the whole of the town with the Lymestone Bar in the marque at the Bowling Green. We will have a wide range of cask ales available to drink on site with all our bottles on sale to take home.
The Lymestone 20-20 Beer festival takes place over the weekend of the 16th 17th September. Live music  will be on both nights with the Gospel Truth starring on the Saturday night. If you love your 50's-60's soul music you will love this band.
20 real ales and 20 ciders/perries will be on offer, and with tickets at just £5 you cannot afford to miss out.
Reapers car meet will take place on the Sunday of that weekend to round off a busy few days
The final weekend in September sees the Lymestone Brewery play host to the AED party night on Friday 23rd, the Lymestone Chilli off on Saturday 24th and a cycling sportive on Sunday 25th!
As you can see there is as usual a lot going on, but if you do want to ask anything or find out more details about our events given us a call or follow Brad the Brewer on twitter and facebook

Hi Everyone
Just thought that I would recap on May 2016 and all that we have achieved.... not least the building of an on-line shop, but I will come to that later!
Brad has been brewing throughout the month keeping pace with the contract orders and the general sales as well as all the stock for our pubs.
Several staff changes have occurred through May and this has given Sarah our daughter the chance to become a trainee Brewster! Brewing alongside her dad she is learning the brewing trade from the bottom up, and already setting a steady pace.
Outside events in May started with the Lymelight Festival in Newcastle under Lyme, our home town and the site of our first pub the Lymestone Vaults. This open air music festival celebrates local musical input and is supported by local traders selling arts, crafts, food and drink. We were there with our pop up bar, and dodged the rain showers to have an incredible weekend as usual... look out for Lymelight 2017 as it is already in the planning phase.
The month moved on with the Brewery team running a brewery tour, hosting the Reapers classic car meet and hosting the first ever Jazz Club in aid of the Stone Festival! Jazz at the Brewery was a very popular evening with over 70 people attending a Jazz night to remember - everyone said they would come again so look out for more Jazz at the Brewery.
As well as private parties booked into the brewery and adhoc visits we were kept very busy! The Brewery is a large building and is ideal for all sorts of activities.... remember if you are looking for something a little different for a party, corporate event or just a visit, give me a call.
The month ended as it began with the annual Jazz and Blue Festival in Newcastle under Lyme. Led by the Newcastle BID this now very successful weekend event sees all the local pubs, clubs and venues providing free live entertainment from a range of genres predominantly Jazz and Blues. At the Vaults we had a mix of acts all providing a unique and talented musical range. From Little Jo and the Misfits, to Jake leg Jug Band, Whisky Brothers, Tipitina and finally the Gospel Truth.
What a fantastic month we have had and it ended as it began... today I have designed and launched an on-line shop! Who would have thought it... well not me that is for sure. But hopefully it is there and will soon start taking orders.
Tomorrow sees June move in to our lives. Time is simply flying past, but I will get back to you with all that June has to offer just as soon as I can
